Sweet Tuesdays!

It is "Sweet Tuesday", where every Tuesday this blog will post recipes on making simple and sweet treats you can make at home. For today, I found this  Pumpkin French Toast recipe from another food blog. Life Made Simple, is a great food blog for simple recipes, which I tend to use occasionally. Making French toast is easy and the ingredients are simple and cheap. Since it is October, it is the season of pumpkin spiced foods. I am not a big fan of pumpkin spiced beverages but pumpkin flavored foods are my favorite.

For this recipe, it is like any other French toast recipe but with two other ingredients of pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice. You can make your own pumpkin puree or just get a can, it will take a while to make the French toast if you are planning to create your own pumpkin puree. I would recommend making the whipped pumpkin butter to add more flavor and creaminess to the French toast. I was hesitant on making the whipped pumpkin butter, you don't have to but it adds more of pumpkin flavor to your toast.

I used brioche to get the thickness and fluffiness when frying the toast. I would recommend getting brioche if you want more of the soft thickness. Using whole wheat usually does not carry enough of the pumpkin spice flavor. If you are using whole wheat, I believe you should add a bit more pumpkin onto the bread. It took me about 22 minutes to prepare and cook a dozen slices. It is a great recipe to make for others in the morning for how quick it is. It is especially fun for the autumn season. Let me know of other recipes or how this recipe turned out for you.

  1. Great post! I don't really like pumpkin, but this definitely sounds like something that I would totally try, especially since I love french toast! I feel as though the pumpkin would go great with the french toast. I would probably add some cinnamon sugar to the pumpkin butter.

  2. I had never heard of pumpkin french toast, but it is very enticing! I will definitely need to try this out. I love all pumpkin flavored foods so naturally fall is my favorite season. I am not a huge plain french toast fan, so this may have changed the game for me. Excited to try it!
